The Tree II by ageai The Tree II by ageai
is this what it means to be free?

to be alone?

--

This shows the same scenery like my photo "The Tree".
I was kinda impressed of the emotions and comments
of the first one so I thought submit the second version as well.
I know a cliche subject,
but I hope you don't mind...

You can see the Black Forest of Germany in the backround through the mist.

Which raises the question... if total freedom requires total isolation... is it worth it? I'd rather be codependent than independent....

Omg this photo is amazing... The first ones colours were nicer though. What with the tree being darker.
Forest was a nice touch too. It added like... a meaning I guess. Outsider and all.

Good Work :D

I wonder why it often happens, that minimalistic pictures come to have the greatest meaning. It just surprises when you come across with a pure and simple photo that holds the untellable words and shapes the secret emotions.

..and makes you babble strange things ;D

Great work.

I really like here the elements of this picture, especially the trees at the background add depth. Only thing I would like to change is that I'd like just a little bit more space on the left. That would separate the tree even more on the picture. But still this is a beautiful picture for me.

If this had the contast extremes of the first one, I would have to fav it instead. The balance and use of thirds is expressed so well here. Nice Job.

wow. i can relate to this photo. I feel like that tree. The trees in the background behind the fog covered sky, are like all friends and close. I am that lonely tree stuck out there with no one around me and no friends and no one liking me.

great PHOTO! I LOVE IT!

I love this... the fog gives it such a loney and surreal feel, while the slight green tint of the scene enforces that feeling. I also like how the trees in the background can still be faintly seen... Wonderful shot :)

Absolutely beautiful, I enjoy this version much more than the other. The overall perspective is much nicer than the other, atlesat that is how I feel  I like the horizantal shot, instead of vertical.. It just , really gives the photo much more emotion... The colours, they are very nice. But most of all, out of this two photo series , the haze and the mist just looks beyond words! :excited: This is beautiful, did you edit this much with the tones?

slightly cyan...but not much. actually with a L lens and SLR cam u cant push the colours that much..its mostly natural
but if u r shooting with .RAW u have always to add some contrast or unsharp mask...its normal

thx again :blowkiss:

hey, hey, hey.. i just noticed something... in full view you can just see a forest of snow tipped firs just a little bit to the left of the tree..

so he is not alone, people are just ...out of reach...

fantastic composition and minimalist feel. i think though i would have preferred if you couldnt see the trees and the terrain in the distance to the left. but who can control the fog? haha....great image really, i only wish i could take half the shot this is. :salute:

MfG

being alone isnt always a bad thing. my first thought prior to reading your comment was "all alone am I", so for me you captured what you wanted the viewer to feel. to me, the tree doesnt look sad, nor does it look happy. it isnt warm but it isnt cold either. being along doesnt always make you feel lonely. I find alone time is refreshing at times, shrugs, maybe its just me. thanks for sharing.

niko very nice work :D but well i dunno.....i mean i think what made the tree I special was the fact that it was completely alone and it had a monochromatic BG......i dunno....it had a more "alone" feeling to it.....this one is very good too but from my point of view the first one was a bit better.....different/better :D
